Communication

If your employees don’t fully understand the benefits you provide them then both they, and you, are losing out.  As an employer you are not getting any ‘value’ from the money you spend on these benefits.

For example; At a seminar the speaker, a HR manager, admitted that in a staff survey over 30% of employees didn’t know that they would qualify for a lump sum payment in they suffered a critical illness or that their families would get a lump sum if they were to die in service.  The speaker said this represented over £1 million of wasted expenditure.  “Wasted” may be harsh, but it was definitely money not generating any return.

Better communication means:

• Employees are aware of the benefits you provide for them and are able to plan actively for the future.
• Employees fully appreciate the whole ‘package’ you provide for them - it is money well spent.
